Kansas State Capitol - USA

These are 2 of the 3 cards I've from Kansas and I got them 6 and 7 years ago!!
The 1st card was sent by Ron and the 2nd is an official.

The Kansas State Capitol, known also as the Kansas Statehouse, is the building housing the executive and legislative branches of government for the U.S. state of Kansas. It is located in the city of Topeka, which has served as the capital of Kansas since it became a state in 1861. It is the second building to serve as the Kansas Capitol. - in: wikipedia

The building is home to one of the largest capitol domes in the United States - even surpassing that of the United States Capitol.
The land for Capitol Square was donated by Cyrus K. Holliday via his Topeka Town Company in 1862. Construction began during 1866 and took 37 years to build at a cost of $3.2 million. Today that figure would not even buy the marble floor. The building was placed on the National Register in 1971.
