Poitiers - France

Poitiers is the capital of the Vienne department and also of the Poitou-Charentes region, in west-central France.  The centre of town is picturesque and its streets include predominant historical architecture, especially religious architecture and especially from the Romanesque period.
On this card sent by Damien is possible to see a detail of the west facade of Notre-Dame-la-Grande.

The Église Notre-Dame-la-Grande in Poitiers is a magnificent Romanesque-Byzantine church from the 11th and 12th centuries.
The west front of Notre-Dame-la-Grande (c.1150), covered in carvings of saints and biblical scenes, is one of the finest Romanesque facades in France.
