DE-666791

A german official card from Gießen, town roughly 50 kilometres north of Frankfurt am Main, with some of its monuments, such as, Old and New Castles, the Theater, Liebig Museum, train station building.....

DE-666791, sent by Jule.
"Gießen is a town in the German federal state of Hesse. The population is approximately 76,000, with roughly 24,000 university students.
Gießen came into being as a moated castle in 1152, built by Count Wilhelm von Gleiberg, although the history of the community in the northeast and in today's suburb called "Wieseck" dates back to 775.
During World War II, a subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp was located in the town.[2]. Heavy bombing destroyed about 75% of Gießen in 1944, including most of the town's historic buildings. It became part of the modern state of Hesse after the war." - in: wikipedia
